Works for Me Wednesday -French Dips

This week is a theme week at Works for Me Wednesdays. To see lots of SUMMER RECIPES - head over to WeAreThatFamily.com.

For me, my favorite summer food is sandwiches. I know, right? How boring - but I just LOVE the swiss cheese and fresh tomato combination that you get in the summer. I could eat them everyday I think.

A very easy, very tasty sandwich we like to make sometimes is Crockpot French Dips. It's easy:

Take a beef roast - whatever you have in the freezer. (Doesn't really matter what cut to me)

Put in the crockpot, fill the crockpot with water over the roast, till it's covered. Add soy sauce to the water. I don't measure it - I just eyeball it, basically whatever you think would taste good. Sometimes we add a little french onion soup mix in - that's tasty too.

Let the meat cook all day - until fully cooked and tender.

I generally cook the meat on low, for about 8-9 hours and the meat is so tender it just falls right off the bone! Yum.

After the meat is done, shred it. Get one of those big loaves of Vienna Bakery bread and open up onto a cooking sheet. Sometimes I will take some of the bread out of the inside to make room for all the meat and toppings I want to put on. Fill bread with meat, swiss cheese and anything else you want to put on your sandwich. Toast in the oven at 350 till cheese is melted. Slice and serve!

Use the juice from the crockpot for the au jus sauce, if you want to dip.

Doesn't that sound good? And EASY peasy? Yummmmm Probably just as well that I don't have a picture!
