I know my life changed when I read the following information. It's pretty simple really, but it had just never really occurred to me.
You can use 1 manufacturing coupon per item. Translated: If you buy 2 of something, you are able to use 2 coupons. Most coupons say "limit 1 coupon per item." If it says limit 1 coupon per transaction", well then that's another story. But those types are few and far between.
So - if Wheat Thins are on sale this week for 1.67 and you have 5 $1 off coupons. Buy 5 boxes and you can use 5 coupons to get them for .67 each! Then you won't have to buy Wheat Thins for a while.
And yes. This is an actual scenario right now.
