My Day Off

Yesterday I had the day off work because I had an ENT appointment in the afternoon, so since I rarely ever get to grocery shop by myself, I dropped the kids off at the sitter around 9:30, made my plan of action and hit the stores. I wanted to hit Kroger, Walgreens, Wal-Mart and Meijer. I was able to do all but Meijer! We'll hit that tomorrow. Most of the deals went pretty well. Some I didn't find (i.e. Capri Sun Sunrise <-- I have 1.00 coupons for these and I'm looking for a great sale!) I like Kroger because they double. My Meijer doesn't double (wow- can you imagine if they did! A girl can dream...) I wanted to go to Walgreens and try my hand at the 5/25 coupon and I wanted to check Walmart for the Capri Sun (I had heard they were on Rollback and a good price at Kroger and struck out both times!) Here's how I did (by the way, I love going by myself!):

Kroger:

2 Red Hot Sauces - 1.25 Regular Price - used 2 - .50 MQ's - doubled - .25 each

3 Montreal Steak Seasonings - 1.49 Sale Price - used 3 - .50 MQ's - doubled - .49 each

3 Montreal Grill Mates Marinades - 1.19 Regular Price - used 3 - .50 MQ's - doubled .19 each

1 Weber Grill Mate Seasoning - 1.00 Sale Price - used 1 -.50 MQ - doubled - FREE

2 Green Giant Frozen Spinach - 1.00 Sale Price - used 1 - .50/2 MQ - doubled - .50 each

1 Hunt's 24 Oz Ketchup - 1.00 Sale Price - used 1 - FREE Conagra MQ - FREE

I paid 3.99 OOP and saved 20.59 - 84%!

Then I hit up Walgreens on the way home from my appointment. This didn't go quite as planned because they didn't have the Bic Multipurpose Lighter that would've been free after RR, so I had to improvise, and then my 5/25 coupon beeped - my subtotal was 27 something and both the cashier and I thought I needed another item to cover the cost of tax. Well, I would up getting 3 more candy items than I planned until the coupon wouldn't beep. But, there's no way all this stuff cost me 5.00 in tax. I don't know what was going on with it, but I knew Hubs and kids would enjoy the candy, so I just cut my losses. I should have had a $22+ subtotal, but would up paying $25 ...not terrible

I made two Wags Stops - the first Wag didn't have anything I wanted except one pack of GoodNites - paid 2.01 -savings of 9.70

Second stop was MUCH better...

1 Packages GoodNites - clearanced to 2.79 - used 2 - 1.50 MQ's - 1.29 each! <--best deal all day!1 Rite Guard Clinical spray deodorant - 5.99 - used 1 - 1.00 MQ - 4.99

1 Colgate Visible White toothpaste - 4.49 - used 1 - 1.00 MQ - 3.49

1 6pack Ensure - 6.99 - used 3.00 IP - 3.99

4 packs Band-Aids - 4/$10 - used 4 - 1.00 MQ's - 6.00

1 Edge Shaving Cream - 1.99 - used 1 - .75 MQ - 1.24

2 Cutter's Bug Spray (wipes & spray) - clearanced to 3.89 - used 2 - 2.00 IPs - 1.89 each

2 Mike & Ikes Candy, 1 Lemon Head, 2 Reese's - 4.00 (ugh!)

Used the 5/$25 coupon good only yesterday & today
Subtotal: 25.75 OOP - saved 36.70 - got back 14.50 in RR and will submit Ensure for Try Me Free Rebate for 6.99 - also will submit Ensure & Good Nite receipts for 2.50 in rebates -

Spent 25.75, will get back 23.99 in RR & Rebates! Not bad!

My last stop was Walmart - I was gettin' really hyper by this point...

3 bags WaterMaid Rice - Regular Price 1.18 - used 3 - .50 coupons - paid .68 each. I had ordered these from Dede, hoping I could get REALLY cheap rice at Kroger's from doubling, but Kroger's didn't carry that brand! So, I basically just wanted to use the coupons...and rice is always good...

1 bottle Kraft HoneyMustard BBQ sauce - .98Rollback - used 1 - 1.00 IP - FREE + .02
2 CoolWhips - .94 Rollback - used 1 - $1/2 - paid .47 each

7 boxes Eggo Waffles - 1.51 Rollback - used 5 - 1.00 MQ's (from Free Sample at Meijer!) and 1 - .75 MQ. Doh! I miscounted, only meant to get 6, but paid full price for one.
OOP: 6.62 - saved ?? I can't find my reciept, but I'm guessing I more than doubled my moola.

So all in all yesterday I spent - 38.49 OOP, saved roughly 75.00, got back in RR & rebates - 23.99. So you could almost say I paid 14.50 for all of the above! A pretty good day!

Total for May - 90.23 OOP, saved 205.74.
